GENEVA, NY – 29 Design Studio is pleased to welcome Pilar McKay as the firm’s Senior Marketing Strategist. She will be responsible for building digital strategies, developing communication campaigns, and managing marketing research and analytics.
McKay started her career in advertising working on research and account planning departments. She developed strategies for behavior change campaigns in California, insight research for national B2B clients, and managed data collection for public opinion polls. Her former clients include Whole Foods Market, New York State Animal Agriculture Coalition, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, NYSERDA, Nevada State Bank, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce.
“With our focus on food and agriculture and smart marketing, we were excited to find Pilar,” said agency founder Maureen Ballatori. “Pilar’s background in strategic marketing research has already proven to be a meaningful addition to the team.”
With her passion for social entrepreneurship and economic development, McKay helped start two businesses in her hometown – a nonprofit arts organization Shake on the Lake and craft brewery Silver Lake Brewing Project. Most recently, she was the Agriculture Economic Development Specialist at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County.
McKay attended the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University (B.S.), University of California, Los Angeles (M.A. and Ph.D), and was on faculty at American University’s School of Communication. She resides in Perry, New York.
